Because using the internet network, a company that makes a WAN (Wide Area Network) based VPN is able to reach a very wide area and across geography. VPN connections provide point-to-point either to the branch office or to an employee who was on duty elsewhere.

Connects between the head office / branch by using a VPN is much more economical with a reliable security rather than using a special network (leased lines) or with long-distance calls through the modem.

VPN can be a special big and unlimited network, a special WAN far more efficient, safe and economical cost than traditional WAN or LAN. So many companies have used the VPN as the network infrastructure that connects between head office and branches, and with the agents and the clients.

There is no specific standard for VPN, but generally the VPN using the public Internet network to one or several purposes to form a special hall (a special network / tunneling) virtually.

In the use of a special network, the VPN is set up in such a way with a software and hardware with a specific protocol to be used for authentication between the user and for the encoding network. Generally VPN firewall installed near the server that functions to filter so that only clients who have registered are served.

VPN is divided into two parts, namely the “inside” that is protected by certain passwords and the system of “outside” who is an Internet infrastructure that is not protected. Protect data with encryption for travel between users in a VPN has been very popular and is always used.
